Movistar Plus+ has appointed Rebeca Aguilar as Head of International Distribution, taking charge of the distribution area created in 2022.
Aguilar joined the company the same year as International Sales Executive and will now lead the in-house operation handling international distribution of Movistar Plus+ original content.
She brings experience in international content commercialisation, having previously held roles at companies including Caracol Televisión and Onza TV.
Since launching its internal distributor, Movistar Plus+ says it has released more than 20 original series internationally, strengthening the platform’s presence in global markets and securing agreements spanning co-productions as well as sales of finished and format content.
Movistar Plus+ highlighted its partnership with ARTE on several projects, including Los Años Nuevos, Anatomía de un Instante and Matar a un Oso. It also pointed to sales deals with platforms and broadcasters including MUBI, Disney, RAI and Flow.
