Air France has struck a new partnership with Apple TV to expand its in-flight entertainment line-up, adding more than 45 hours of Apple TV original programming for passengers on long-haul services.
The airline said a curated selection of series, documentaries and children’s titles is now available through seatback screens, including Ted Lasso, The Morning Show and Severance, alongside French-themed programming such as Carême. The first three episodes of each series are presented in a dedicated Apple TV channel, offered in French and English with subtitles and accessibility options for deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers. The Apple TV catalogue will refresh every two months.
In parallel, Air France is using the tie-up to promote its next-generation onboard connectivity. Passengers will be able to access Apple TV via the carrier’s new high-speed Wi-Fi portal, with a one-week free trial designed for use on personal devices during travel and to continue viewing after landing. Air France said the portal experience will later be enhanced with additional content from both partners to create a bespoke onboard trial.
The airline is progressively rolling out the high-speed Wi-Fi platform across its fleet, including regional aircraft, with the aim of extending the service to all aircraft by the end of the year.
Air France already offers more than 1,500 hours of on-demand entertainment on long-haul flights via HD seatback screens. In its newest cabins, it said the anti-glare 4K displays include Bluetooth connectivity for personal headphones, while a new touch interface is being introduced across 38,000 screens in 12 languages. Air France added that around 30% of its entertainment catalogue is dedicated to French productions, with more than 310 films available, alongside content delivered via partnerships including Canal+ and now Apple TV.
