Lithuania’s LNK TV Group has launched LNK GO, a new OTT platform built with Backscreen, combining live streaming and on-demand in a single service while keeping the core offer free-to-view.
Registered users get access to an extended catalogue and selected titles ahead of their linear TV broadcast, as LNK looks to grow digital viewing alongside its traditional channels.
“With LNK GO, we are opening a new chapter for the LNK channel group, making our content more accessible than ever. This new capability reflects how we are evolving as a television service and looking ahead, with a clear focus on providing our viewers with broader and more flexible ways to watch our content,” said Monika Skeltė, Head Of Digital at LNK TV. “By expanding LNK GO, we are delivering more modern functionality and an improved user experience
Built on Backscreen’s cross-generation OTT platform, the service supports advertising-based video on demand (AVOD), live TV advertising, and dynamic ad insertion (DAI), alongside Google Ad Manager. In addition to in-stream ads, LNK GO also introduces clickable display advertising within the user interface.
“This LNK deployment maximises monetization of ad inventory while keeping balance with consumer satisfaction. It has been achieved by spreading ad touch points across the service experience without oversaturating a single point. Of course, personalization helps here greatly,” adds Jan Frelek, CCO at Backscreen. “We care about it not only as decent craftspeople, but also because our commercial success is directly related to the success of LNK GO.”
The service is available via desktop web and mobile web, Android and iOS apps (including tablet versions), and connected TV apps for Android TV, with LG and Samsung versions currently in certification. Hosting is provided by Tet Cloud.
Backscreen has positioned its cross-generation UX as a way to serve both traditional linear audiences and streaming-first viewers, and has also been developing more mobile-first, short-form discovery experiences as operators look to attract younger demographics.
