Swerve TV has closed a $2.5 million (€2.14m) Series A financing round, with entrepreneur and Prof G Media co-founder Scott Galloway named as the principal investor.
The Los Angeles-based company positions itself as an independent programmer of live sports for free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST).
Swerve TV runs combat-sports channel Swerve Combat and women’s sports service Swerve Sports, carrying hundreds of live events each year across more than 20 streaming platforms, including Roku, Pluto TV, Prime Video, LG, DIRECTV and Fubo, according to the company.
Swerve said the new funding will be used to expand live event programming, launch additional channels, deepen distribution with “tier-one” FAST platforms, and grow its third-party FAST channel services offering distribution, monetisation and promotion for leagues and media brands.
Chief executive Steve Shannon said Galloway’s investment “validates” Swerve’s strategy around free, ad-supported television, while Galloway described FAST as “one of the most compelling growth stories in media”, arguing live sports is its strongest use case.
The announcement comes as FAST viewing and investment continues to accelerate. Comscore said total hours watched across major free ad-supported streaming services rose 43% year-on-year in its 2025 State of Streaming report. Grand View Research estimates the global FAST market was worth $9.73bn in 2024 and could reach $40.20bn by 2033.
