Telefónica has struck an agreement with OpenAI to make ChatGPT Plus available to Movistar customers in Spain, offering the subscription free of charge for 6 months.
The operator said the promotion launches today (13 January) with no additional cost and no minimum contract period. Movistar is positioning the move as part of its push to expand consumer-facing AI services, adding ChatGPT Plus to what it describes as a broader ecosystem of AI solutions.
ChatGPT Plus is pitched as an enhanced version of the AI assistant for ongoing conversation, content creation and everyday tasks, including writing, analysis, learning and research. Movistar said Plus provides faster responses, higher usage limits, support for larger files and access to tools for creating images and video.
Customers can redeem the offer digitally via the customer area on movistar.es or through the Mi Movistar app, where they will receive a unique code to link and register on OpenAI’s website.
