Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) will carry every match from the 2026 Australian Open across Europe, with full live coverage streaming on HBO Max for the first time and discovery+ continuing to offer the tournament in the UK.
Eurosport will broadcast 274 live hours from Melbourne Park, marking its 32nd consecutive year covering the season’s first Grand Slam. In the UK and Ireland, TNT Sports will show the Australian Open for the first time, alongside free daily highlights on Quest. Prior to its close in the UK market, the Australian Open had been available on the basic-pay channel Eurosport.
WBD says its streaming offer will include every point live, plus key moment timelines designed to help viewers catch up with pivotal passages of play during matches.
The broadcaster’s on-site English-language line-up for Eurosport and TNT Sports includes John McEnroe, Jim Courier, Mats Wilander, Tim Henman, Laura Robson, Barbara Schett, and Anne Keothavong, with CoCo Vandeweghe joining for the women’s singles semi-finals and finals. Robson will lead TNT Sports’ daily shows, while Rachel Stringer will present Eurosport’s pan-European coverage. WBD will also deploy local studio programming in major markets, including Spain (Pasando Bolas), France (Eurosport Tennis Club) and Germany (Matchball Becker).
Scott Young, EVP at WBD Sports Europe, said the Australian Open kicks off a “year of sport” for the group, ahead of its coverage of every event from the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.
WBD is also extending coverage with original programming, including a new 60-minute documentary, The Match That Changed Tennis, revisiting the 2012 men’s singles final between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. It is scheduled to air on 15 January at 12:00 CET across Eurosport, TNT Sports, HBO Max and discovery+.
The main draw runs from 18 January to 1 February, with qualifiers available on HBO Max and discovery+ from 12 January. WBD will also carry digital coverage of Tennis Australia’s new “Million Dollar 1 Point Slam” on 14 January, featuring a 48-player line-up of amateurs and celebrities alongside leading names, competing for A$1,000,000 (about €610,000).
In addition to showing every match on discovery+ in the UK, the platform will also offer coverage alongside HBO Max in Germany, Italy, Sweden and Norway. The Player streaming platform will show the Australian Open in Poland together with HBO Max.
