Indra has closed its acquisition of an 89.68% stake in Spanish satellite operator Hispasat, completing on December 30, 2025.
The deal, agreed with Redeia in January 2025, values the purchase at €725 million and implies an enterprise value of €966 million for Hispasat.
Spain’s state holding company SEPI is now the remaining shareholder. SEPI moved to consolidate the state’s minority position in April 2025 after acquiring CDTI’s 2.91% holding, adding to its existing 7.41% stake to reach 10.32%.
In its CNMV filing confirming completion, Indra linked the acquisition to its “Leading the Future” strategic plan, positioning the group as a reference player in Spain’s satellite sector and pointing to defence-related ambitions through the consolidation of Hisdesat and participation in IRIS2, Europe’s secure satellite connectivity programme.
Redeia said the divestment strengthens its financial position to focus on its core energy transition investment plan, noting it will have received €821 million from its Hispasat investment including dividends since acquiring the stake in 2019.
