DAZN secures Kings League rights for 2026 competitions

December 29, 2025 23.47 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

DAZN has acquired broadcast rights for Kings League competitions in 2026, including the Kings World Cup Nations Brazil 2026 and domestic coverage of Kings League local leagues in Spain, Italy and Germany.

The Kings World Cup Nations will run from 3 to 17 January 2026 in Brazil, with DAZN streaming the tournament in most international markets on a free-to-view basis, except in France where it will be part of DAZN’s paid offering. According to the sports streaming service, coverage will be available across most European and Asian markets, as well as Canada, Oceania and sub-Saharan Africa, with some territories excluded.

Kings League is a creator-led football property founded by Gerard Piqué that blends football with streamer culture and digital-first fan experiences. The tournament will feature 20 national teams and 250 Kings League players, with teams managed by streamers, content creators and football figures. Names involved include tournament president Ronaldo Nazário and team captains such as Robert Lewandowski, Wesley Sneijder, Arturo Vidal, Kun Agüero, James Rodríguez, Miguel Layún and Weston McKennie.

The competition format includes a first round of five groups of four teams, with group winners advancing to the quarter-finals. Second-placed teams and the best third-placed side move into a “Last Chance” stage for the remaining quarter-final places, before the knockout rounds conclude with the final on 17 January at Allianz Parque in São Paulo.

DAZN’s coverage will include commentary in English, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese and German language.

From March to May, DAZN will also act as the domestic broadcaster for Kings League local leagues in Spain, Italy and Germany, with localised commentary.

“DAZN’s ambition is to be the global home of football, and Kings League represents the kind of innovation fans want from the sport. DAZN is the ideal partner to grow the Kings League’s audience worldwide, due to our global reach, pioneering technology and the power of our marketing engine,” said Shay Segev, DAZN Group CEO. “This agreement strengthens DAZN’s position as the ultimate destination for the most exciting football formats and complements our global football rights portfolio, which includes the world’s most popular leagues and competitions.”

Djamel Agaoua, Kings League CEO, added: “Kings League has been a revolution in sports entertainment, becoming the world’s leading creator-led sports brand in just three years, and now running competitions in seven major markets as well as two World Cup tournaments. DAZN will bring our revolutionary brand of football to audiences around the globe, on world-class digital streaming and broadcasting platforms, making sure that millions of homes have the chance to watch the Kings World Cup Nations and other competitions in 2026.”

According to a note by DAZN, Kings World Cup Nations Brazil 2026 will be streamed globally on DAZN excluding LATAM, Brazil, MENA, Israel and the US. The tournament will be part of the company’s paid offering in France and free to view in all other markets.
