TNT Sports has been confirmed as the exclusive UK live broadcast and digital media rights partner for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, in a deal struck by Commonwealth Sport with Warner Bros. Discovery.
Under the agreement, TNT Sports will create a dedicated linear channel for the UK and Ireland, with more than 600 hours of live coverage planned. Every sport and event will also be available to stream on HBO Max in the UK following the platform’s launch in March 2026, with HBO Max set to become the new streaming home of TNT Sports in the UK and Ireland.
Commonwealth Sport said the appointment forms part of a wider “re-imagining” of the Games, and positioned the partnership as evidence of ongoing broadcaster and host-market backing, with Amdavad 2030 confirmed and “strong interest” signalled for 2034.
The Commonwealth Games is within Group B of Ofcom’s listed events, suggesting that highlights may still be released to a UK free-to-air broadcaster. Glasgow 2026 will be the first edition since 1954 not to have the BBC as the UK live broadcaster.
Katie Sadleir, CEO of Commonwealth Sport, said the deal would open up “exciting new ways” for fans to connect with the event, with more live availability and an increased focus on athlete storytelling. Scott Young, EVP at Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe, said WBD would bring its production and storytelling approach to deliver coverage that is “comprehensive, immersive and accessible”. Phil Batty, CEO of Glasgow 2026, said the partnership would help broaden the breadth and depth of content and reach new audiences.
Glasgow 2026 is scheduled to run from 23 July to 2 August, with organisers expecting around 3,000 athletes from 74 nations and territories. The programme combines 10 sports and 6 Para sports, with 133 sessions of sport and 215 gold medals.
Commonwealth Sport noted the deal follows other territory agreements already in place for 2026, including Sky New Zealand (confirmed July 2025) and Australia’s Seven Network (confirmed April 2025).
