DAZN has secured an early extension of its rights to key international football competitions in the DACH region, retaining coverage of the UEFA Nations League, European qualifiers for the UEFA European Championship and the FIFA World Cup, as well as selected international friendlies, through to 2028.
The current agreement, which runs until the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the United States, Canada and Mexico, has been extended by a further two years. This ensures that the sports streamer will continue to show all matches from these competitions in the DACH region up to the UEFA Euro 2028, hosted in the UK and Ireland.
The renewed rights package includes the UEFA Nations League and its finals, along with the full European qualifying campaigns for both the European Championship and the World Cup. DAZN will also continue to screen international friendly matches, with the exception of fixtures involving the German, Austrian and Swiss national teams in their respective home markets.
According to DAZN, the extension further strengthens its football portfolio in Germany Austria and Switzerland, which already features major club competitions such as the UEFA Champions League and the Bundesliga, alongside leading European domestic leagues including LaLiga, Serie A and Ligue 1.
“We are very pleased to extend our partnership with UEFA and to offer fans of all nations the most comprehensive and highest-quality live football coverage. We are committed to long-term investment in premium content and innovation in order to continuously improve the experience for our subscribers,” said Alice Mascia, CEO of DAZN for the DACH region.
One of the next highlights under the extended agreement will be the European qualifying play-offs for the 2026 World Cup. In March 2026, the final four European places for the tournament will be decided in a mini play-off format, with eight semi-finals on 26 March followed by the decisive finals on 31 March, all live on DAZN.
