BBC Studios has struck an exclusive strategic partnership with CosmoBlue Media aimed at expanding its channels and streaming footprint across the Middle East and North Africa and Türkiye.
The agreement covers the planned launch of a new general entertainment channel for the region, the integration of BBC Player into CosmoBlue’s CosmoGO streaming service, and joint distribution activity for BBC Studios’ existing channel portfolio in MENA and Türkiye.
As part of the deal, BBC Player – BBC Studios’ on-demand service spanning drama, factual and documentaries – will be made available within CosmoGO, with launches planned in both Türkiye and MENA.
CosmoBlue will also work with BBC Studios on the distribution of its linear channels, including BBC First, BBC Earth and CBeebies. The partnership extends beyond Türkiye into wider MENA, where CosmoBlue will support distribution of those channels across multiple markets.
Arran Tindall, President EMEA, Global Channels & Streaming at BBC Studios, said the deal supports its strategy to pursue partnerships across linear and on-demand, while CosmoBlue Group CEO Berk Uziyel said the collaboration would bring BBC brands and content to MENAT audiences through a mix of channel and platform initiatives.
BBC Studios said the partnership is designed to broaden reach and deepen audience engagement across both traditional pay TV distribution and streaming.
