Sky Deutschland adds WOW Filme & Serien to Amazon Prime Video

December 16, 2025 10.04 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland has expanded its partnership with Amazon by making the WOW Filme & Serien subscription available as an add-on channel within Prime Video.

The move follows the earlier launch of WOW Live-Sport on the platform.

With immediate effect, Amazon customers can book WOW Filme & Serien directly via the Prime Video app and pay through their Amazon account. No separate WOW app download, additional registration or Prime membership is required, allowing users to access the service without leaving the Prime Video environment.

The new add-on channel provides on-demand access to recent cinema releases and premium series from partners including NBCUniversal, Sony, HBO and Sky Originals. Content available via WOW Filme & Serien includes blockbusters such as Wicked and Gladiator II, alongside series including The Rookie, House of the Dragon and The Day of the Jackal. Further highlights include Yeliz & Jimi – We Are Family?!, Rudi Völler – Es gibt nur einen, Watson and IT: Welcome to Derry.

“With the integration of WOW Filme & Serien as an add-on channel, we are creating seamless access to our diverse entertainment offering for Amazon customers,” said Evelyn Rothblum, Chief Transformation Officer at Sky Deutschland. “This includes award-winning series, exclusive documentaries, current blockbusters and popular reality formats – all conveniently available at any time.”

Elisabetta Carruba, Director of Content Partners EMEA at Prime Video, added: “This partnership gives our customers seamless access to blockbuster content and exclusive Sky Originals. No additional app download, no extra account setup – everything is integrated into the Prime Video experience our customers value.”
