Canal+ rolls out ‘Tango’ cinema brand campaign across Europe

December 12, 2025 15.41 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Canal+ is launching a new multi-territory brand campaign dedicated to cinema, built around a creative concept titled Tango.

Positioning itself as the leading partner of film creation in France, Canal+ uses the campaign to underline its role in the development and financing of theatrical features. The spot presents cinema through the allegory of a magnetic dance, designed to symbolise the relationship between the broadcaster and filmmakers.

Developed by agency BETC and directed by Pierre from the duo We Are From L.A – best known for Pharrell Williams’ Happy video – the campaign is backed by a broad media plan expected to deliver 168 million contacts in mainland France and more than 90% reach.

The 45-second version will air on television in France from 14–31 December, with 30- and 60-second edits running on digital platforms from 15–31 December. A 90-second version will be screened in cinemas from 17 December through to 6 January 2026.

The Tango campaign will also roll out from the end of December in France’s overseas departments and regions, as well as in Switzerland and Poland.
