Zattoo adds direct access to ZDF streaming portal

December 9, 2025 11.03 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Zattoo is now making the ZDF streaming portal directly available on its TV streaming platform in Germany.

Following the addition of ARD Mediathek in October 2025, the inclusion of ZDF gives ZDF users direct access to the complete catalogues of both German public broadcasters from within the platform.

Zattoo users in Germany can click directly from the platform to any selected ZDF programme, with highlights and curated recommendations placed prominently on the Zattoo home screen. All ZDF content is also searchable via Zattoo’s unified search.

“For us as a public service media provider, making content as easily accessible as possible is a central goal. The cooperation with Zattoo is another consistent and pioneering step towards this. Our vision of a digital ZDF offering for everyone is strengthened – with comfortable usability, simple navigation and wider reach into society,” said Florian Kumb, ZDF Director Audience responsible for the streaming portal.

Roger Elsener, CEO of Zattoo, added: “The agreement reached with ZDF is another milestone in providing all users’ favourite content on a single platform. In an increasingly complex market environment, Zattoo is fulfilling consumers’ desire for simplicity and clarity.”

The ZDF content is available immediately to Zattoo users on web browsers, Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV) and all Android-based devices, including Amazon Fire TV.
