Deutsche Telekom adds Mainstream Media FAST Channels to MagentaTV

December 9, 2025 12.02 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Deutsche Telekom is entering the FAST Channels market with the addition of several channels from German media company Mainstream Media to its domestic TV platform MagentaTV.

Four channels from Mainstream Media – KultKrimi, Telenovela ZDF, World of Freesports and Filmgold – became available on 9 December 2025.

“The fact that we were able to place four FAST Channels on MagentaTV at once shows how strongly our media partners rely on us. We are perceived as a fast, reliable and flexible sailboat that can use its size to make optimal use of market dynamics,” said Tim Werner, CEO of Mainstream Media.

Jörg Richartz, Senior Vice President TV Marketing & Steering at Deutsche Telekom, added: “FAST Channels are a long-term part of our content strategy at MagentaTV. They allow us to offer our customers a flexible television experience. We have a long-standing and successful partnership with Mainstream Media, so we are very pleased that our FAST Channel line-up is being expanded at launch with audience-friendly content.”

KultKrimi screens classic German crime series such as Derrick, Der Alte, Ein Fall für zwei and Percy Stuart, with around 1,500 episodes rotating continuously.

Telenovela ZDF features romantic and emotional ZDF favourites including Bianca – Wege zum Glück, Julia – Wege zum Glück, Hanna – Folge deinem Herzen and Alisa – Folge deinem Herzen.

World of Freesports showcases adventure and extreme sports, from mountain biking and surfing to snowboarding, with footage from locations across Europe and worldwide.

Filmgold focuses on German film and TV classics starring Fritz Wepper, Uschi Glas, Mario Adorf, Maximilian Schell and others. The channel includes Vorstadtweiber, Vier Frauen und ein Todesfall, Schnell Ermittelt, Ein Schloss am Wörthersee and Der Pfundskerl.

The launch reflects Deutsche Telekom’s recently announced strategy to build a substantial FAST portfolio on MagentaTV. Starting this month, Telekom plans to roll out a broad mix of ad-supported channels spanning film, entertainment, docutainment, sport and lifestyle, with the line-up expected to grow to as many as 40 channels in 2026.

With this latest move, Mainstream Media continues to extend its FAST distribution across platforms including Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels, Titan OS, VIDAA, waipu.tv, Pluto TV, Zattoo, Prime Video and YouTube, enhancing the channels’ reach across the DACH region.
