Virgin Media O2 has added two music-focused FAST channels to its Virgin TV line-up, giving customers round-the-clock access to classical and jazz programming at no additional cost.
Stingray Classica (channel 296) is dedicated to classical music, opera and ballet, featuring around 50 world premieres a year recorded at major concert halls, festivals and opera houses. The channel also carries documentaries, exclusive performances and weekly premieres aimed at both classical enthusiasts and newcomers.
Stingray DJAZZ (channel 297) offers jazz concerts, films, artist portraits and documentaries from a range of venues and festivals, along with profiles, interviews and backstage reports.
The new services are available to all Virgin TV customers via the set-top box EPG and join Virgin Media’s existing FAST line-up, which also includes British Screen Classics, U&Transport, Inside Crime and Haunt TV.
“We are launching two brand new FAST channels to give our customers even more of the best entertainment Virgin TV has to offer,” said David Bouchier, chief TV and entertainment officer at Virgin Media O2. “From classical music to jazz concerts and artist interviews, the new channels offer something for all music fans to enjoy.”
Virgin Media O2 said it will continue to expand its FAST portfolio, positioning the channels as a complementary offer alongside traditional linear TV.
