Tubi has secured carriage on Virgin Media TV, bringing its free, ad-supported streaming service to millions of additional UK homes.
The Fox-owned platform, which debuted in the UK in July 2024, is now available on Virgin Media set-top boxes with a catalogue of more than 60,000 films and TV episodes spanning action, thriller, comedy and horror. December titles highlighted by the two companies include Zombieland, Baby Driver, Bend It Like Beckham, Jack and Jill, Robin Hood (2018) and La La Land, alongside a slate of Tubi Originals such as Naomi Osaka: The Second Set and Destry Allyn Spielberg’s Please Don’t Feed the Children.
Ross Appleton, General Manager, UK, at Tubi, said the deal with Virgin Media would connect more viewers with its free library, positioning the cable platform as “an ideal home for Tubi’s expansive catalogue”. Virgin Media O2’s Chief TV and Entertainment Officer, David Bouchier, described Tubi as one of the world’s biggest sources of free movies, TV shows and documentaries and said the integration would add value for Virgin TV customers at no extra cost.
Since its UK launch, Tubi says it has doubled the size of its local library and now claims the largest collection of free movies and series in the market. Globally, the service reports more than 100 million monthly active users and has recently added over 30 FAST channels from partners including Lionsgate, A+E, Banijay and FilmRise to sit alongside its predominantly on-demand offering.
