Sky Österreich is expanding its streaming offer to business customers, making Sky Stream available to hotels, bars, restaurants and fitness clubs in Austria.
The move follows the pay-TV broadcaster’s rollout of the gastronomy version of Sky Stream to pubs and restaurants in Germany in August 2025 ahead of the new Bundesliga season. That business offer is now being extended to the Austrian market.
Sky Stream provides hotels with a unified platform combining Sky channels, HD free-to-air TV and on-demand content through a single, internet-delivered interface. The compact box can be used with any in-room TV and supports both remote and voice control. International guests benefit from original-language options, subtitles and a selection of international news channels.
“After the successful launch for private households in May, we can now finally offer Sky Stream to business customers. More than 90% of new private customers already opt for Sky Stream. I am convinced business customers will be equally enthusiastic,” said Monika Coupkova, Vice President Operations at Sky Österreich.
Bars and restaurants can use Sky Stream to broadcast Sky’s full sports line-up via a standard internet connection – without satellite or cable. In Austria, Sky holds extensive and largely exclusive rights, including the Austrian Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Conference League, the Premier League, the German Bundesliga, ATP tennis and the NHL.
Sky also provides marketing materials, social media templates and a digital customer portal to hospitality venues aiming to attract sports fans and increase dwell time and revenue.
“Since the market introduction of Sky Stream in the business sector in Germany earlier this year, we have seen that the offer meets a real need in the hotel industry,” said Lars Winking, Vice President Sky Business. “With the launch in Austria, we are taking the next important step for sustainable business.”
