Kino Polska Group has rolled out a new Polish version of factual channel DocuBox, adding a dedicated local schedule and full Polish voiceover to the SPI International-owned service.
Positioned as a destination for science, nature, history and technology programming, the refreshed feed is designed to “fit perfectly the Polish TV landscape” and strengthen SPI’s channel portfolio in the market, according to Erwan Luherne, managing director at SPI International.
The new line-up introduces themed dayparts aimed at different age groups and family viewing. Weekday mornings feature nature and history strands such as Travel Thru History and Nature’s Force, alongside educational blocks for younger viewers including Meet My Wild Friend and Sarah Shark.
Afternoons move into lifestyle with shows like Show Me Where You Live and Angelo’s Outdoor Kitchen, while primetime is structured around genre nights: science-led factual on Mondays and Fridays (Wow! I Never Knew That!), documentaries on Tuesdays, history on Wednesdays (What in the World?) and nature on Thursdays (Creative Killers). Weekends focus on family-friendly titles including Wild Australia with Ray Mears.
DocuBox is currently carried in Poland by platforms including Play, Vectra, INEA and TOYA. From January, the channel will also be represented in the Polsat Media advertising portfolio alongside other Kino Polska Group services.
