Nordic pay TV operator Allente has introduced user profiles and a dedicated kids mode in its Allente TV app, as it continues to push a more personalised, household-focused streaming offer.
The new profiles feature is available on web, mobile, tvOS and Smart TV, with set-top boxes to follow later. Each household member can create their own profile with a name, coloured avatar and individual content preferences, with character avatars to be added at a later stage.
On first launch, viewers are presented with a profile screen where they can set up regular or kids profiles. Once created, the app remembers the user’s choices and tailors recommendations and the overall experience to that profile.
Kids Mode offers a more controlled environment, with age-appropriate content and a simplified interface designed for younger viewers.
“Profiles are more than just a new feature. It is an important step towards a more personalized and family-oriented Allente experience,” said Charlotte Hedegaard Kristensen, Product Owner at Allente, who added that the launch reflects closer collaboration between internal teams, platforms and markets.
Allente said the rollout of profiles is part of its ongoing work to build a streaming experience where all members of the household receive personalised recommendations regardless of age.
