Virgin Media O2 is opening up a month-long Ultra HD “open window” on its TV platform, giving subscribers access to a line-up of family films and documentaries in UHD at no extra cost.
From 1 December to 2 January, Virgin TV customers with Stream, TV 360 or V6 boxes can tune to channels 175 and 999 to watch family titles every afternoon, factual programming from 20.00 and a primetime movie from 21.00 each day.
The temporary UHD channels will feature films including Hook, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Hacksaw Ridge, Antz, The Prince of Egypt and Smurfs: The Lost Village. Factual content will include Billy and Dom Eat the World, Go Gently, Fantastic Friends, Mother Nature and The Nature of Christmas.
“For so many of our customers this time of the year is all about coming together and spending quality time with loved ones. So, Virgin TV is gifting them the opportunity to unwind and watch their favourite films and shows together in UHD, at no extra cost this festive season,” said David Bouchier, chief TV and entertainment officer at Virgin Media O2.
Alongside the UHD promotion, Virgin is also pushing seasonal content via dedicated channel Great! Christmas (channel 424), carrying a large slate of festive movies until 6 January.
