Canal+ Poland has promoted Adriana Sławińska to programme director, following the resignation of long-serving programming chief and vice-president for programming, Małgorzata Seck.
Sławińska has been with Canal+ Poland for six years and most recently served as programme director for films and series. In her new role she will oversee overall programming strategy, further integration of content across the Canal+ ecosystem, management of the group’s own channels and the development of local productions.
A media executive for more than 15 years, Sławińska has previously been responsible at Canal+ Poland for content production, streaming services, digital marketing and the development of VOD and OTT. She also headed up Canal+ Content Lab, the unit behind experimental and non-standard projects aimed at streaming and TV audiences, including the recent “Experiment: ODSIADKA”, collaborations with music stars such as Quebonafide and adult animation projects with creator Bartosz Walaszek.
Before joining Canal+ Poland she worked in content strategy and business development roles at Onet-RASP Group, games company CD Projekt and cable operator UPC Polska. She holds an MBA from the University of Wollongong and a marketing and management degree from Kozminski University, and specialises in programme strategy, digital transformation and premium content production.
Canal+ Poland CEO Edyta Sadowska said Sławińska had repeatedly shown a strong understanding of viewers and rapid changes in the entertainment market, and predicted she would lead the offer in a more ambitious, fresh direction. Sławińska said she wanted to bring “fresh and bold” projects to the Canal+ line-up in the coming months, reflecting the way audiences are changing how they consume video.
