Xperi has expanded the role of chief revenue officer Matt Milne, naming him president of TiVo Ads as the company steps up efforts to grow its cross-screen advertising business.
TiVo Ads is made up of a mix of Xperi executives and new talent from leading companies (including Samsung Ads, Paramount, Sky, CBS, and more) working together to grow the company’s expansive and global digital entertainment monetisation platform. The move comes as the TiVo One advertising platform passes 4.8 million monthly active users and secures a series of partnerships with measurement and ad tech players including Comscore and Titan Ads.
Xperi CEO Jon Kirchner said Milne’s expanded remit is aimed at aligning and accelerating ad sales around TiVo One, which the company sees as a significant growth driver. He credited Milne’s sales leadership and role in building the TiVo Ads ecosystem, adding that the team is now focused on expanding the global advertising platform and unlocking new revenue.
Positioned around “unduplicated reach”, TiVo Ads offers inventory across pay-TV and connected TV environments, supported by a metadata product that promises enriched programme identification and high accuracy across catalogues.
Xperi is also extending its ad capabilities into the car. The company has begun targeted advertising trials with major audio media partners in the US and UK on its DTS AutoStage platform, which it says is now deployed in more than 13 million vehicles worldwide.
