Zattoo to handle HBO Max ad sales in Switzerland

November 19, 2025 10.59 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Zattoo has secured a major new mandate in the connected TV (CTV) market, signing a commercial partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery that will see the Swiss streaming provider take over advertising sales for HBO Max in Switzerland from January 2026.

The move coincides with the long-awaited launch of HBO Max in the country, bringing the service’s extensive catalogue of high-profile series and films to Swiss viewers.

“Together with Zattoo, we are bringing our top content from HBO Max to our advertising customers in Switzerland, thereby creating new spaces for first-class product presentations,” said Matthias Heinze, SVP Commercial & Managing Director Warner Bros. Discovery Germany, Switzerland & Austria.

Roger Elsener, CEO of Zattoo, added: “The cooperation agreement now reached with Warner Bros. Discovery not only underscores our own leading position in the Swiss advertising market but also strengthens CTV as a genre overall.”

Klaus Nadler, Chief Sales Officer at Zattoo, said: “HBO Max presents outstanding content and is one of the most renowned content producers in the world. Agencies and advertisers will benefit from the newly bundled reach from a single source through positive defragmentation, which will result in increased efficiency and effectiveness.”

The arrangement hands Zattoo responsibility for monetising premium HBO Max inventory, ranging from HBO hits such as House of the Dragon, The Last of Us and The White Lotus to iconic library titles including Game of Thrones, The Sopranos and Sex and the City.

Goce Nikoloski, who heads international sales, will oversee the marketing strategy for the new mandate, with Sales Manager Martin Schlenker and his team handling operational implementation.

The Swiss partnership follows Warner Bros. Discovery’s recently announced strategy for neighbouring Germany, where HBO Max will also debut in January 2026. In that market, the company has chosen RTL Deutschland’s Ad Alliance as its exclusive advertising sales partner.
