Viaplay Group has completed the acquisition of Telenor’s 50% stake in Allente Group, becoming sole owner of the Nordic satellite and broadband TV operator.
The deal, first announced in July, values the remaining stake at SEK 1.1 billion (€101 million) in cash.
Allente is a pay-TV provider serving Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. It delivers services via DTH and broadband, and counting hundreds of thousands of subscribers across the region. Viaplay CEO Jørgen Madsen Lindemann said the move is a “strategic step” in the group’s ongoing transformation and “fully in line” with its focus on reinforcing its Nordic core, adding that Allente’s DTH and broadband TV platforms extend customer reach and add “scale and stability” to operations.
The acquisition has been financed with existing cash and a new SEK 1,726 million term loan used to refinance Allente’s debt.
Transaction costs linked to the Allente buyout are excluded from the 2025 guidance and will be booked as items affecting comparability in the Q4 2025 results. Updated financial guidance for 2026 will be issued with the Q4 statement, once Viaplay has completed its analysis of the benefits of taking full ownership of Allente.
