Viettel has completed the deployment of an end-to-end video delivery solution from Ateme to power what is positioned as one of Southeast Asia’s largest streaming platforms.
Vietnam’s largest telecoms operator is using Ateme’s TITAN encoding, NEA-DVR, NEA-Live with low-latency streaming, and NEA-CDN, alongside networking and security components, to support TV and OTT services across the region. The platform is engineered for more than 7 Tbps of peak throughput and close to 4 million concurrent sessions, and has already carried over 5 Tbps of live traffic in production.
The deployment spans more than 130 servers and over 5 petabytes of storage, giving Viettel room to scale as its video subscriber base expands. Viettel selected Ateme in part for its ability to meet strict redundancy and reliability requirements for the state-owned operator.
Viettel’s broadband and TV chief Ngo Xuan Truong said Ateme’s flexible platform enables the company to deliver premium streaming at massive scale while retaining operational control. Ateme’s regional sales manager for APAC, Duc Long Nguyen, said the project underlines the vendor’s ability to meet “top-tier operator” demands around reliability, scalability and user experience.
Viettel’s operations teams manage the end-to-end service in-house through an intuitive interface, with features such as per-household session control supporting fine-grained optimisation. The new platform is intended to cement Viettel’s position in digital entertainment, delivering high-quality streaming to millions of households in Vietnam and neighbouring markets.
