German commercial broadcaster RTLzwei has officially appointed Thorsten Braun as its new CEO and managing director, effective 12 November 2025.
The 53-year-old media executive joins RTLzwei from RTL Deutschland, where he most recently served as Chief Marketing, Brand & Consumer Products Officer, responsible for brand strategy, marketing activities and the licensing and merchandising business.
Braun succeeds interim managing director Nicole Glatzmaier, who will continue as CFO/COO and member of the management board.
“Taking on the leadership of RTLzwei is both an exciting and highly appealing challenge. The channel has a clear profile, strong brands and great creative potential. Together with the team, I aim to build on these strengths to further develop RTLzwei strategically and editorially,” said Braun.
Before joining RTL Deutschland, Braun was managing director of Super RTL and previously held senior positions at The Walt Disney Company in Munich, where he headed programming and sales from 2013 to 2020. Earlier in his career, he worked for Publicis Media and Paramount.
