Bloomberg TV+ and Bloomberg Originals have joined Google’s virtual pay-TV platform YouTube TV in the United States, following a new carriage deal. Both channels are included in the base plan.
Bloomberg TV+ is being delivered in 4K, billed as the first 24/7 news channel on YouTube TV to offer an Ultra HD feed.
The feeds began appearing from around 1pm Eastern on Tuesday. Bloomberg Originals carries radio simulcasts during daytime hours and switches to documentaries and series in the evening, while Bloomberg TV+ mirrors the linear business news service with an additional data-rich presentation. 4K access requires YouTube TV’s 4K add-on.
YouTube TV has previously disclosed a customer base of more than 8 million, making it one of the largest internet-delivered pay-TV services in the US. The Bloomberg agreement extends the platform’s line-up of business and general news channels.
This move is for US domestic viewers only. YouTube TV is not available in the UK or Europe; Bloomberg programming remains accessible there via other platforms and on Bloomberg’s regular YouTube outlets.
