MFE strengthens control at ProSiebenSat.1 with new Seven. One Media CEO

October 28, 2025 09.43 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

MFE-MediaForEurope continues its rapid consolidation of control over ProSiebenSat.1 by placing an executive from its own ranks at the top of the German broadcaster’s advertising sales subsidiary Seven. One Media.

Nicola Lussana, a long-serving executive from MFE/Mediaset’s advertising arm Publitalia ’80, has been appointed Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of Seven. One Media with immediate effect.

Dr Markus Messerer will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer and Lennart Harendza the role of Chief Revenue Officer. Both will remain in their current roles as Managing Directors of Seven. One Media.

“Nicola Lussana joining Seven. One Media marks an important step in strengthening the company’s presence in the German-speaking region and beyond while supporting ProSiebenSat.1’s long-term industrial growth strategy,” said the new ProSiebenSat.1 CEO Marco Giordani, appointed from MFE last week. “Together with Markus Messerer and Lennart Harendza, Seven. One Media is ideally positioned to drive forward the next chapter, based on growth and innovation.”

Lussana added that aligning the sales house’s activities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with MFE’s European strategy would “extend reach internationally, provide added value to customers and create additional opportunities for growth.”

The latest management change is a clear indication that MFE – controlled by the Berlusconi family – is extending its reach beyond financial oversight to direct operational control at ProSiebenSat.1. The move also paves the way for closer alignment of advertising sales, data strategies and technology platforms across MFE’s markets in Italy, Spain, Germany and beyond, potentially unlocking synergies and efficiencies.
