Bitmovin has launched Bitmovin Observability, a standalone data and monitoring product designed to give streaming providers real-time visibility into video and ad playback.
Spun out from Bitmovin Analytics, the new suite is tailored specifically to video workflows rather than general IT observability. It surfaces session-level metrics, advanced error debugging and an incidents screen with alerting, aimed at proactive viewer support and rapid issue resolution, particularly around live events and sports.
The platform includes built-in advertising observability, AI-assisted analysis and an MCP server interface to let LLMs and AI agents access telemetry and tools. A new “Playback Score” (0–100) combines start-up, smoothness, quality and session success metrics, while an AI Session Interpreter generates actionable recommendations to improve performance and engagement.
Stefan Lederer, CEO and co-founder, said the product addresses gaps left by general observability stacks: real-time, video-specific detail to diagnose playback, advertising and audience issues, where outages “directly affect revenue”.
Bitmovin says Observability is fast to deploy and targets enterprise streamers alongside premium live programming, adding that its monetisation telemetry has been recognised with industry awards.
