Sky Deutschland is expanding its interactive Bundesliga experience to cover all simultaneous matches in Germany’s second football tier, 2 Bundesliga, from 24 October.
The My Matchday environment – already offered around Saturday 15:30 kick-offs in the top flight – adds two key features for the second tier: Multiview, which shows all concurrent fixtures in a multi-screen layout with match-by-match commentary, and Match Alert, which overlays notifications for goals, penalties and red cards from other grounds and lets viewers jump straight to the incident or stay with their chosen game.
“My Matchday is now available for all parallel matches in the 2. Bundesliga, in addition to individual games and the conference,” said Alexander Rösner, editor-in-chief, Sky Sport, adding that Sky will continue to invest in digital innovations.
The tools are available to customers with Sky Stream or an internet-connected Sky Q receiver. Within Multiview, users can switch audio tracks per match and hop in and out of full-screen with a single click.
Sky says take-up has been strong since launch, citing new consumer research unveiled at Munich Media Days: 44% of respondents value switching between parallel matches, 23% like selectable camera and audio options, 22% use split-screen for multiple events, and 20% opt into push updates on other results.
