Austrian TV platform simpliTV rebrands as simpli to reflect streaming focus

October 16, 2025 22.50 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Austrian TV platform simpliTV has rebranded to simpli, signalling its transition from a traditional television service to a fully integrated entertainment platform combining broadcast and streaming.

With a new name, logo and design, simpli aims to reflect the diversity and emotional power of television in a digital age. “Television touches, moves and surprises people every day – and we are the gateway to that experience. The new brand expresses exactly this,” said Philipp Dainese, CEO of simpli.

For more than 10 years, simpliTV has provided Austrian audiences with reliable access to television via DTT, satellite and streaming distribution. Now, the company is repositioning itself as a comprehensive entertainment hub, blending linear TV and on-demand content with curated thematic worlds such as Crime and Motorsport.

“Our goal is to make the best of both worlds – television and streaming – easily accessible,” explained Dainese. “We no longer see simpli merely as a TV provider, but as Austria’s entertainment platform.”

A new “highlights” feature allows users to watch key moments from selected football matches on demand, while the simpli app offers viewing throughout the EU. The service is available on all major devices, including smartphones, smart TVs, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV.

Dainese stressed that simpli’s strength lies in its local foundation: “International platforms rely on global algorithms and paywalls. We understand what Austria wants to watch.” To reinforce that local connection, simpli continues to offer customer support via its Austria-based service team, ensuring personal assistance rather than automated online help.

The CEO sees the relaunch as a clear statement of intent in the competitive streaming market: “Streaming in Austria needs its own fresh, local voice – and we want to be that voice. With the new brand, I’m confident we can achieve it.”
