
Samsung TV Plus is partnering with Spotify to debut The Ringer’s first FAST channel, offering a curated, always-on line-up of the publisher’s video podcasts subscription-free on Samsung TV Plus.
Unveiled at Samsung Ads’ NewFronts, the channel will surface episodes from franchises including The Rewatchables, Higher Learning, The Big Picture, The Ringer-Verse, The Dave Chang Show, The Recipe Club, Book of Basketball 2.0 and House of R. It will be available across Samsung TV Plus on Samsung TVs, Galaxy devices, Smart Monitors and Family Hub screens.
Spotify said the deal expands the reach of its video podcast ecosystem and opens exclusive access for advertisers to engaged podcast audiences on FAST. “Bringing The Ringer to Samsung TV Plus is an exciting evolution—expanding our reach and allowing audiences to engage with our content in new ways,” said Geoff Chow, Spotify’s Head of Podcast Studios & Managing Director of The Ringer.
Salek Brodsky, SVP and Global Head of Samsung TV Plus, said the partnership makes the biggest screen “a stage for podcasting’s boldest video programming,” adding it “redefines what television can be” for audiences and brands.
The move follows a tie-up between Spotify and Netflix, which will see The Ringer podcasts appear on the streaming service in the United States.
