Slovak Telekom has removed Czech Television’s joint kids/culture service ČT:D/ČT art from its Magio TV, Magio Sat and Digi TV line-ups. The operator has not given a reason for the change.
Local trade press estimates around 676,000 subscribers are affected across the three platforms. The removal currently applies only to Slovak Telekom’s services; other Slovak operators continue to carry the dual channel for now.
From a technical standpoint, Slovak Telekom is still uplinking ČT:D/ČT art on the Thor satellite at 0.8°W, but access is now limited to customers of Czech satellite providers such as Telly, freeSAT and Magenta TV Sat. Slovak Magio Sat and Digi TV subscribers can no longer view the feed.
The move follows a broader tightening of Czech channel distribution in Slovakia in recent years, with various Czech services being reduced or withdrawn by multiple providers.
