Space Norway has selected Media Excel’s HERO 6000 platform to power a new encoding headend for premium video distribution, extending the companies’ long-running relationship.
The deployment will support close to 200 linear channels and targets five-nines reliability for mission-critical broadcast workflows. HERO 6000 combines sub-second latency with multi-codec support across AVC, HEVC, AV1 and VVC, and can be deployed on-prem, in the cloud or in hybrid setups.
Media Excel’s AI-enabled DIVA (Dynamic Intelligent Video Adaptation) will be used to tune profiles in real time to maintain quality under changing network conditions, helping Space Norway optimise bandwidth and simplify operations.
Space Norway said the platform aligns with its focus on secure, uninterrupted services, while Media Excel framed the win as proof of its competitiveness on video quality, reliability and total cost of ownership.
