Swerve Sports adds live volleyball coverage and launches on The Roku Channel UK

October 7, 2025 10.39 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Women’s sports FAST channel Swerve Sports has expanded its live offering through a new partnership with Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball, while also securing carriage in the UK via The Roku Channel.

The deal gives Swerve Sports rights to stream nine live matches from the Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball Championship between now and November 1. The series features forty-four top international players competing in Omaha and Madison, with coverage produced by Athletes Unlimited and Game Time Productions. Former Olympians Ci Michel (Great Britain 2012) and Kevin Barnett (USA 2000 and 2004) will commentate.

The matches will stream live in the United States and, for the first time, in the UK via Swerve’s new distribution deal with The Roku Channel UK.

“At Swerve Sports, we partner with women’s sports leagues and content creators to expand fandom and monetisation opportunities,” said Christy Tanner, Chair of Swerve TV. “The Roku Channel in the US was one of the first to launch Swerve Sports, so we’re delighted to extend that partnership to the UK to reach even more fans.”

Swerve Sports bills itself as “Where Women Rule the Game,” offering 24/7 free live streaming of women’s sports. Alongside The Roku Channel, it is also available in the United States on Pluto TV, Free Live Sports, Lights Out Sports and Zeam.

The move underscores the growing importance of women’s sports within the free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) ecosystem. With outlets such as Swerve Sports, Recast TV and the Women’s Sports Network expanding internationally, content owners are increasingly leveraging FAST distribution to reach global audiences and attract new sponsorship and ad-supported revenue streams.
