Ligue 1 expands D2C service across UK, Ireland and Italy

October 7, 2025 11.01 Europe/London By Julian Clover

France’s top football league has extended the reach of its in-house streaming service Ligue 1+ to key European markets, offering fans in the UK, Ireland and Italy access to every match of the Ligue 1 McDonald’s season.

The platform, which includes live games, highlights, replays and documentaries, launched in Italy last month. Ligue 1+ is the only outlet in Italy showing all matches, complementing a non-exclusive deal with Sky Italia, where the coverage does not include the full fixture schedule. The channel costs €9.99 per month or €49.99 for a season pass.

In the UK and Ireland, Ligue 1+ has been operating since the start of the 2024/25 campaign, showing every match except those affected by the 3 p.m. blackout. The service, priced at £9.99 (€11.60) per month or £49.99 (€58.10) per season, features English commentary and is supported by a pay-per-view partnership with Amazon Prime Video.

In France, where the service launched in August, Ligue 1+ has already surpassed one million subscribers. Altogether, Ligue 1 McDonald’s will be broadcast in 215 territories this season through 50 partners worldwide.

The league said further updates and new features are planned to enhance the Ligue 1+ experience and broaden international access to French football.

New broadcasters also include Pro TV/Voyo in Romania, PBS in Malta, Mono in Thailand or VTVcab in Vietnam.

In total, Ligue 1 McDonald’s will be available this season in 215 territories worldwide, via a network of 50 broadcast partners.
