TVR Sport has agreed a partnership with Eurovision Sport, the European Broadcasting Union’s digital streaming platform, in a move designed to increase exposure for Olympic disciplines and connect Romanian athletes with wider international audiences.
Selected productions from TVR Sport will now be carried worldwide on Eurovision Sport, giving fans free access to European and global competitions and offering Romanian sports federations a wider showcase.
Eurovision Sport, launched in February 2024, provides free-to-air live and on-demand coverage of Olympic and non-Olympic sports, complementing programming from EBU member broadcasters.
Alan Fagan, managing director of Eurovision Sport, said the agreement would “elevate the visibility of Olympic sports in Romania and provide free access for fans to follow the best of Romanian and European athletes”.
Dan Cristian Turturică, president and CEO of the Romanian Television Society, added: “The integration of TVR Sport with Eurovision Sport is an important step in fulfilling our public service mission in the digital age.”
