Deutsche Telekom has appointed Alexander Jenbar as the new head of technology at its German division Telekom Deutschland.
He will take up the role on 1 November 2025, succeeding Abdu Mudesir, who joined the Deutsche Telekom board earlier this month.
Jenbar moves from T-Mobile Polska, where he has been Chief Technology and Innovation Officer (CTIO) and a member of the management board since September 2022. The 52-year-old Austrian brings more than two decades of international telecoms experience, having previously held senior roles at Telekom Romania, Danish operator TDC Net and A1 Telekom Austria. Earlier in his career, he also worked in Thailand and Germany.
At Telekom Deutschland, Jenbar will oversee the continued rollout of fibre and mobile networks, with a focus on innovation in network operations and the use of artificial intelligence to accelerate processes. He will also contribute to the group’s ambition to strengthen its position as Germany’s leading digital telecoms provider.
Rodrigo Diehl, Chief Executive of Telekom Deutschland, praised Mudesir’s achievements in advancing digitalisation and AI in the company’s network operations. “With Alexander Jenbar we have gained a very experienced technology expert as his successor,” Diehl said. “His international experience, deep technological understanding and commitment to digital solutions will help us establish Telekom as the leader in digital networks in Germany.”
Jenbar added: “Our mission is clear: we want to expand fibre and mobile networks consistently and make Telekom the number one in the digital market. The aim is to be the best provider of modern networks – for every household, every company and every location in Germany.”
Jenbar holds three master’s degrees in economics, business administration and public administration, earned in Austria and Germany. A successor for his role at T-Mobile Polska would be announced in due course, according to Telekom.
