Liberty Global is deploying Vecima’s Entra Access Test Platform as part of its strategy to accelerate broadband innovation and simplify the convergence of its cable, fibre and mobile networks.
The platform enables automated, production-scale testing of next-generation access technologies, including virtual CMTS, helping operators move away from manual validation processes. Vecima says the system has already been proven in collaboration with other Tier 1 operators and validated against its own Entra product portfolio.
“Partnering with an industry leader like Vecima represents a strategic advancement in how we approach network validation and integration,” said Colin Buechner, Managing Director and Chief Network Officer at Liberty Global. “It strengthens our deployment capabilities and establishes a common, vendor-neutral testing framework that is rapidly becoming the industry standard.”
According to Vecima, the platform supports greater interoperability, accelerates innovation and improves efficiency by streamlining testing workflows. The company argues that as operators transition to vCMTS, automated and scalable testing is essential to ensure reliability comparable to existing CCAP deployments.
The collaboration follows Vecima’s acquisition of Falcon V Systems in late 2024, which bolstered its automation expertise and R&D presence in Europe. The vendor says this positions it to expand its role in the development of distributed access architecture and vendor-agnostic solutions.
Vecima describes the Liberty Global agreement as a milestone that underscores growing momentum for its Entra Access Test Platform and its wider push toward industry standardisation.
