Sony Pictures Entertainment Germany has partnered with Little Dot Studios to roll out a suite of six new German-language YouTube channels, aiming to expand the reach of its film and television catalogue in the DACH region.
The phased launch began this week with Absolute Action, a channel dedicated to crime, thriller and western films. According to the companies, five more channels will follow by the end of September: Comfy Movies (comedies, dramas, romantic comedies and family titles), Retro Gems (nostalgic series), CineCult Reloaded (sci-fi, fantasy, mystery and horror classics), Making Legends (biographical and documentary content), and Throwback Series (iconic action and TV shows).
Together, the six channels will offer more than 1,000 films and numerous series with a combined total of over 2,000 hours of content. The slate includes well-known titles such as Dawson’s Creek, Charlie’s Angels, Mad About You, Just Shoot Me and the thriller I Know Who Killed Me.
The partnership combines Sony Pictures Entertainment’s library with Little Dot Studios’ expertise in digital distribution. The German team at Little Dot Studios, part of the All3Media-owned network, will manage the channels end-to-end, including content curation, publishing, community engagement and monetisation.
“With Sony Pictures Television, we are working with one of the world’s largest and most renowned media companies,” said Nils Franck, Managing Director of Little Dot Studios Germany. “This partnership enables us to leverage our expertise in YouTube channel management and development in a targeted manner and expand the reach and success of this first-class content in the German-speaking market.”
Little Dot Studios, which already operates more than 1,000 social media channels worldwide generating over 11 billion organic views per month, sees the collaboration as a way of strengthening its German footprint while giving advertisers new premium digital inventory.
The companies said the initiative signals their shared belief that partnership and collaboration are essential for successful content strategies in today’s media landscape.
