The Muziekkiosk television package, which already includes the Dutch channels TV Oranje, SchlagerTV, and NashvilleTV, has been expanded with Top 40 TV. The new channel, founded earlier this year by Erik de Zwart and his team, offers a range of past and current hits 24 hours a day.
The expansion of the channel package was made possible by a collaboration between the Dutch Top 40 Foundation and media entrepreneurs Jur Bron and Gerard Ardesch. Since last week Top 40 TV has been available on Stichting Kabelnet Veendam (SKV). Distributor PLINQ has also decided to add the new premium channel to its package. Several TV providers are expected to include Top 40 TV in their basic packages this year, as part of Muziekkiosk.
Top 40 TV has also been part of Ziggo’s Plus package since early March. According to Gerard Ardesch, director of Muziekkiosk, the channel is perfectly suited to the package: “Top 40 TV seamlessly integrates with our other channels.” Erik de Zwart is also positive: “The youngest music channel in the Netherlands deserves to be widely available. We are pleased that through our partnership with Muziekkiosk, we are offering an accessible option to easily bring this channel to viewers.”
Top 40 TV is technically facilitated by Steenwijk-based Basmedia, which, in addition to the Muziekkiosk channels, counts many national and international TV channels among its customers.
