ProSiebenSat.1 confirmed that two members of its Supervisory Board are stepping down, paving the way for its new majority shareholder, MFE-MediaForEurope, to take a larger role in controlling the German broadcaster.
Effective immediately, Klára Brachtlová, representing Czech investment group PPF, and independent member Christoph Mainusch will leave the Supervisory Board. Their departures are directly tied to MFE’s recent acquisition of a 75.61% stake in ProSiebenSat.1.
Brachtlová had been part of the Supervisory Board since 202 on behalf of PPF which sold its shares to MFE as part of the takeover. Mainusch joined in 2024 as an independent member, but was considered a PPF confidant as the company proposed him for the position. His exit similarly frees up space for Board seats better aligned with the new shareholder structure.
ProSiebenSat.1 said that it intends to proceed with a court appointment for two new Supervisory Board members “shortly”.
Maria Kyriacou, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board, thanked the departing members, citing their contributions to the company’s digital transformation, and said the board looks forward to working with the new appointees.
As ProSiebenSat.1 moves forward under new ownership, the reshuffling of its Supervisory Board marks a key early step in MFE’s plan to consolidate influence and integrate the broadcaster into its wider European media group.
