German sports streaming service Dyn has expanded the reach of its new free-to-air channel Dyn Sport Mix with the launch of DTH satellite distribution on Astra (19.2° East).
The channel, which debuted last month on platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Zattoo, Joyn and Pluto TV, is now available in HD via Astra, reaching more than 16 million TV households in Germany.
Dyn Sport Mix offers live matches, highlight shows and magazine formats from five core sports – handball, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and hockey. Fans can follow selected live fixtures as well as re-live games and studio talk shows such as Kretzsche & Schmiso, in which former national handball star Stefan Kretzschmar and commentator Florian Schmidt-Sommerfeld analyse current developments in the sport.
The channel, which is financed through advertising, is available free of charge via Astra on the frequency 12,109 MHz H (SR 27,500, FEC 3/4),
With the addition of Astra distribution, Dyn Sport Mix is set to significantly widen its reach across Germany, strengthening its ambition to make niche sports more visible to mass audiences.
