Friend MTS is to present the next phase of its strategic growth to address piracy with greater precision.
Its IBC2025 focus will be on the introduction of new investigation services, supported by an experienced team to assist customers in evaluating the impact of piracy, optimising anti-piracy approaches, and collaborating with law enforcement to counteract criminal activities.
At IBC, FMTS will introduce its Piracy Investigation Services, which integrate identification, threat intelligence, advanced analytics, and enforcement capabilities. This offering includes continuous piracy mapping to support investigations and enforcement processes, such as identifying and locating operators of illicit streaming services. Additionally, the analysis and enforcement solution provides clients with insights into the infrastructure supporting illegal services and facilitates enforcement efforts, including legal action.
FMTS will also demonstrate advances in anti-piracy measures through enhancements to its monitoring services via a sophisticated AI Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) model that continuously adapts to emerging piracy methods. Unlike static systems, this solution creates adaptive templates, recognises nuanced changes in piracy targets, and automatically adjusts scanning and access protocols for accurate detection. This approach enables improvements in speed, accuracy, and intelligence for FMTS customers; threats are now identified 70% faster within the expanded Piracy Source Register, which has grown by 50% in coverage.
“Our recent wins at MNC, Saran Media and VOYO demonstrate how our business is growing – as ambitious video providers invest in the rights to premium content, including live sport and Hollywood movies, they are turning to us to keep those assets secure. More and more, businesses see piracy as a real risk. By adding new AI tools and our latest investigations services, we can now offer a truly end-to-end service – from monitoring and identification right through to enforcement,” said Shane McCarthy, CEO, Friend MTS.
FMTS will host a panel discussion at 12:00 CET on Sunday, 14 September, addressing the topic Piracy: Undermining Sports, Threatening Business, Funding Crime with expert contributions from invited guests.
