Proximus launches enhanced web platform with 3SS’ 3Ready

September 8, 2025 12.59 Europe/London By Julian Clover

3 Screen Solutions (3SS) has announced that Belgium’s largest telecommunications operator, Proximus, has introduced a new web application to increase choice, convenience, and reach for subscribers to its integrated TV service, Pickx.

From this month, the new viewer-focused, web-based service is live, extending the coverage of Proximus’ multiscreen React Native platform infrastructure developed by 3SS and originally unveiled in 2024. The application’s user interface and experience are consistent with previous Pickx launches on Android STBs, Apple TV, as well as iOS and Android tablets and smartphones.

This cross-platform solution harnesses the strengths of the 3Ready platform and React Native development methodologies. Aligned with Proximus’ comprehensive technology strategy, 3SS has served as the primary technology partner since the initial launch on Android TV Operator Tier STB in September 2020.

React Native plays a central role in Proximus’ application strategy, providing an efficient approach to cross-platform software development. By enabling the deployment of applications across multiple operating systems and device types from a unified codebase, React Native significantly accelerates rollout timelines and simplifies backend integration.

In an environment characterised by budget constraints and increasing demands for rapid product development, efficiency remains essential. The adoption of React Native minimises redundant development efforts, resulting in measurable savings in time, resources, and investment.

“Our commitment to delivering a seamless cross-platform experience has guided every stage of the Pickx roadmap,” said Pradeep Thekkedath, TV Platforms Lead at Proximus. “Our strategic technology decisions, in partnership with 3SS and powered by 3Ready, have enabled us to achieve this vision – alongside considerable operational and development efficiencies, and faster introduction of innovative features.”

“Our longstanding collaboration with 3SS underscores the value of enduring partnerships and a shared mission: providing outstanding experiences for our viewers,” Thekkedath continued.

“We are honoured that Proximus has chosen to continue working with 3SS to deliver exceptional television experiences to Pickx customers,” said Kai-Christian Borchers, Managing Director of 3SS. “Proximus continues to demonstrate its dedication to user experience excellence and appreciation for cutting-edge technological innovation, realising numerous benefits through advanced development approaches such as React Native.”

3SS continues to provide a robust development roadmap for Pickx, encompassing STB and multiscreen applications across Android and iOS.
