OKAST has announced a partnership with Akamai that takes advantage of Akamai’s cloud computing services and content delivery network (CDN) for global expansion of its growing FAST business.
The partnership further aligns with the work of ASAP4EU, a European consortium dedicated to developing innovative advertising solutions for AVOD and FAST platforms.
Through Akamai’s extensive distributed cloud infrastructure, OKAST will advance its capacity to test, deploy, and scale new services, supporting the consortium’s objectives of promoting sovereignty, innovation, and competitiveness within European media.
Among the key benefits of the partnership is support for rapid FAST channel growth with dynamic workload scaling and the streamlining of infrastructure management.
“Akamai’s cloud-native infrastructure aligns perfectly with our FAST strategy, enabling us to deploy channels efficiently, scale globally, and uphold the quality standards our clients expect,” stated Cédric Monnier, CEO of OKAST.
“OKAST’s advancements in the FAST ecosystem are elevating service quality,” added Dan Lawrence, Vice President of Cloud Computing at Akamai. “Viewers expect exceptional, broadcast-like experiences in addition to a diverse array of channel options. By utilising Akamai’s globally distributed cloud, OKAST empowers FAST channel operators to remain closer to their audiences and deliver superior viewing experiences.”
The collaboration represents a significant milestone in OKAST’s ongoing mission to equip broadcasters, content owners, and media enterprises with comprehensive solutions for creating, distributing, and monetising FAST channels across all devices and regions, reinforcing Europe’s leadership in streaming innovation through initiatives such as ASAP4EU.
