An IBC x Google Cloud Hackfest (13-14 September) is to challenge participants to solve real-world problems using Google Cloud, Gemini AI, and partner technologies.
It will feature lightning talks from industry partners including Ateme, Bitmovin, Formula E, Monks, Norsk, Shure, TechX, Vizrt, and Zixi, while mentoring from Google Cloud coaches will be available throughout the weekend.
Hackfest speaker sessions will feature both technical deep-dives, such as AI curation for media from Vionlabs and Google Ad Manager integration, and forward-looking development updates from IBC Accelerator Media Innovation Programme contributors. On the final day, Buzz Hayes (Google Cloud) and Gunpowder Tech will present their pioneering work reimagining the Wizard of Oz with AI-driven 4D enhancements.
Interactive attractions alongside Hackfest include a Google AI Penalty Shoot Out that lets attendees test their football abilities against AI analysis and Formula E racing simulators, powered by Gemini AI, that ffer real-time feedback compared to professional drivers.
The Hackfest follows the IBC2025 Talent Programme and brings together advocacy groups, senior executives and young professionals for a day of mentoring, debate and career-building sessions.
