MySports scores exclusive NHL rights for 2025/26 season

September 5, 2025 11.11 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Swiss network operator Sunrise has secured the exclusive rights to show National Hockey League (NHL) games on its sports channel MySports for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

Fans in Switzerland will be able to watch up to 300 live games, including the entire Stanley Cup play-offs and the Stanley Cup Final, when the season begins on 7 October.

The announcement strengthens MySports’ position as the home of ice hockey in Switzerland. In addition to the NHL, the channel will continue to broadcast every match of the Swiss National League, which kicks off on 9 September. Sunrise recently extended its media partnership with the domestic league until 2035.

“We are very pleased to continue working with Sunrise and MySports as the home of hockey for our fans in Switzerland. Sunrise’s commitment to providing Swiss hockey fans exclusive access to live games featuring the best Swiss NHL players, as well as live games from the Stanley Cup play-offs and the Stanley Cup Final, demonstrates the strength and commitment of our partnership,” said David Proper, NHL’s Senior Executive Vice President, Media & International Strategy.

Matthias Krieb, Head of MySports, added: “With this exclusive extension of the NHL rights, we’ll once again be the only sports channel offering fans the very best ice hockey action in the coming season: Swiss stars competing in the world’s most spectacular league on the one hand, and full coverage of Switzerland’s premier league on the other. That’s hockey, and you won’t find more action anywhere else on TV.”

Alongside live coverage, MySports is launching a new season of its documentary strand Inside Plus. The opening episode, Jeff Tomlinson – Blind Faith, tells the story of the former Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and EHC Kloten coach, who stepped down in 2024 due to severe health issues. The film reveals that Tomlinson, who led Kloten to promotion, is virtually blind. It will be available on the MySports app from 9 September and shown on MySports ONE on 12 September.

Subscribers will also benefit from promotional offers. Sunrise TV customers signing up for an annual MySports package by 6 October will receive the first four months at half price, while customers of other providers will get two months free if they take out a subscription by the end of September.

In addition to the pay-TV coverage, selected NHL games and highlights will be shown free-to-air on TV24.
