Sky Sports expands NFL coverage with new 3-year rights deal

August 29, 2025 10.15 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Sky Sports has renewed its long-standing partnership with the National Football League (NFL), signing a new three-year agreement that will see the broadcaster air more live NFL games than ever before in the UK and Ireland.

Under the new arrangement, Sky Sports will broadcast more than half of all NFL games live, including expanded coverage on Sunday evenings. Viewers will have access to a first-pick exclusive game at 6pm on Sundays, a first-pick game at 9pm and a second 6pm game

In a notable development, Sky will also air all NFL London and Europe games, including the first-ever matches in Ireland and Spain, marking a significant increase in international coverage. Overall, the expanded schedule represents a nearly 50% increase in live matches available to Sky Sports customers.

The popular NFL RedZone programme will continue to be part of the offering, alongside Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, Thanksgiving Day games, the Playoffs, and Super Bowl LX, which will be broadcast live from Levi’s Stadium in California on February 8, 2026.

“This expanded partnership reflects the growing appetite for NFL in the UK,” said Jonathan Licht, Chief Sports Officer UK & Ireland. “With more games than ever before, we’re pleased to offer greater value to our customers and continue delivering high-quality coverage.”

NFL executives echoed the sentiment. Gerrit Meier, Managing Director and Head of NFL International, noted the UK’s importance in the league’s global strategy: “Sky Sports has played a key role in growing the NFL’s presence in the UK, and this deal helps us reach even more fans.”

Laura Louisy, Director of NFL International Business Development and Media, added: “This agreement ensures fans can follow the NFL season from kickoff to Super Bowl with more choice than ever before.”

Games will be shown across Sky Sports NFL, Sky Sports+, and Sky Sports Mix. The dedicated NFL channel, first launched in 2020, will continue to operate throughout the season, offering round-the-clock coverage and flagship programming from NFL Network, including Good Morning Football and The Insiders.

The 2025 NFL season begins on September 4, with Sky’s full broadcast team and programming schedule to be announced in the coming weeks.
